I have recently bought a DVI-D to VGA converter to dual monitor, but it does not seem to work. I've heard that there may be an issue where it cannot transfer an analog signal, or something to that effect.
I have the DVI-D converter plugged into my DVI-D port on my computer, with a VGA cable plugged into the converter and my monitor.
The one I have purchased is http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00W5DG6F8?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00
I visited a forum that said I needed something like this http://www.amazon.ca/StarTech-com-Active-Adapter-Converter-1920x1200/dp/B00C93JQXS/ref=sr_1_6?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1455486999&sr=1-6&keywords=dvi-d+to+vga
Is this true, can I not use the former converter to connect a VGA cable to my monitor? Would the second converter work? What is the difference between the two?
