23.6 vs 27 inch monitor

I've come down to 2 monitors that I am choosing from. Whichever one I choose, I'll be getting 3 for a triple monitor display. I'll be gaming on all 3 sometimes, but mostly I'll be using them for multitasking. Which of the 2 would be best for me?

3x 27" would be pretty insane.
IMHO, 1080 @ 27" is fine for gaming, but absolute rubbish for anything else.

I started using a 1440 27" for work in 2009, and upgrading to a 5k 27" ~18 months ago I saw a MASSIVE improvement.

1x 5k screen would cripple any gfx card for gaming, but for anything else, I couldn't think of using a lower rez.

Agree with the above....the 27's will be OK if you mostly game on them, but reading text can get annoying.

Could you clarify what you mean by "Text can get annoying" Not fully understanding what you mean.
Would it just be a better idea to get the 23.6 inch monitor for now and a few years down the road pick up something different?

Looks pixelated.
Think of zooming a picture too much. You're spreading a small amount of detail over a large area.

Hm. I see. I think I will stick with the 23.6 inch monitors and use them until 4K drops to reasonable prices.
