Will PSU suffice for dual monitors?

I am considering hooking up a second monitor to my rig. I only want it to have wikis and such open while I play games. I have an i5 4590 and a GTX 970, but, as for PSU, I only have a 500W. Will this work or should I buy a 650W?
-On a side note, does the second monitor draw CPU power if it is not on?

The monitors are on wall power, not the PSU. A second monitor will not have an effect.

I forgot to mention this: I don't know if it's important or not, but I keep an HDMI plugged into my TV from my computer to duplicate the screen. It is usually off while I play but occasionally I leave it on.

this link recommends http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-970/specifications 500 watts with 2x6pin connectors. it does not draw power when not on.
