Right click on your desktop > Screen Resolution > Extend these displays

there should be another option to show taskbar on each display. I'm not on Windows 7 so I can't tell you exact steps for that

Extend these displays does't span the background across both, it just duplicates it :/ and there isn't an option to span the task bar across both :(

Thanks for taking your time to try and help though :)

when you right click on the desktop, there should also be a "personalize" or something about wallpaper/background. Go into that menu, and you should be able to span the selected image across the displays.

As for the taskbar issue: right click on the taskbar itself, and click on Properties. should be able to extend taskbar to all displays.

Hope this helps - sorry I am not on Windows 7, so I can't give exact menu instructions
