Hey all,

I have a Zotac 980Ti Amp! Extreme with 3xDP, 1xDVI-D and 1xHDMI. I want to run 2d Surround on 3 older monitors and one accessory. Here's the setup:

2D SURROUND:
Asus VW266H (1920x1200@60hz)
Asus VK266H (1920x1200@60hz)
Samsung 2693HM (1920x1200@60hz)

ACCESSORY ONLY:
Acer Xb270HU (2560x1440)

The accessory must be on DP as that is the only input, so I will be running one surround via HDMI, one via DVI and the using a DP-DVID (or DP-HDMI) adapter for the 3rd.

My questions are as follows:
1) Do all 3 connections have to be exactly the same (i.e. can I mix 1x HDMI in with 2x DVI-D with one of them being through an adapter?).
2) Can I use a passive DP-DVID or DP-HDMI adapter (i.e. do I need Active)
3) Can I mix and match brands of monitor if they have the same spec?
4) Must I use a DVI-D (could I use single link DVI)?

I had previously been able to get my Asus VW266h working together with my VK266h but I just purchased a Samsung 2693HM which is the same 1920x1200 @ 60hz monitor. I hope this wasn't an incorrect purchase.

Any and all help appreciated! Thanks,

K

Solution
1. You can use any connections.
2. Passive will work.
3. The only thing that needs to be the same is res and hz. If monitors are different, they can be set the same but of course you'd have different scaling or sizing.
4. Dvi-d can be single link or dual link. Single link does support 1920x1200 so yes you can use that. https://www.zotac.com/us/product/graphics_card/gtx-980-ti-amp-extreme If this is your card, it has a dl dvi-i so it's compatible with all dvi types.
