Hi.
Today I just upgraded from a EVGA GTX 560 TI SLI to a single MSI GTX 980 GAMING 4G.
For now, I own 2 of the VX2450WM monitors and Im planning to get a new one for GAMING.
I would like to get a 27" for this purpose, but I dont know If my GTX 980 will handle at max a monitor of 1440p...or if I just should go with a 27" 1080p at 144hz, 1 ms response.

As a note, I didnt consider the 970 SLI because of the 3.5 vram issue and because the 980 i got, was just 80-90 bucks more expensive than a single 970.
It may not be important but my CPU is an i5 4960K and I have 32 GB Ram DDR3 GSKILL.
Thanks a lot

Solution
my overclocked msi gaming gtx970 can handle 1440p at pretty high settings--though not totally maxed out--on most games i have tried

your gtx980 should be a little better than my card unless its at stock speed then might not be much in it
your pc power is enough to handle any 27 inch monitor.
get something like the Acer XB270HU or asus pa279q
only for csgo a 144z 1ms monitor would be greta but if u are into more games, its hard to let down an 144z IPS screen so much more would look gorgeous in it.
and 4ms g2g isn't that much noticeable

Which is the more demanding game you have played with that setup?
Thanks

and i did look at 27 inch 1080p monitors

but to me anything over 24 inch is too big for 1080p

27 1440p is great really sharp and added bonus is can open 2 web browsers side by side and see the whole width of both of them--something i never actually thought about when buying the monitor but find that so useful

and its my first ips panel--the colours are just much better than tn panels
