Hello, I'm not a very tech savvy person so I don't really know if this is truly a display issue but I recently purchased an ASUS VE278Q monitor, and when I watch videos the picture quality just doesn't seem that great, even in 1080p. especially when it fades into our out of black, it looks very blocky. Here is a screenshot from a video I watched where I noticed it a lot

In full screen the shading on the back of his head is super blocky, and I feel like it should be smoother and more clear.
For reference, I am plugged in through the DVI port, I have tried updating the drivers, and my graphics card is an AMD Radeon R7 370 Series.
Is this normal? This monitor is bigger than my old one so is this just a common issue of getting a picture monitor or is there some kind of setting I'm missing?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

From the screenshot, the picture is fine. Meaning its a display issue. Is your graphics card intergrated? And could you tell me the specs of your system please. If the graphics card is intergrated, your quality settings may be set to Performance rather than quality (this is an option on most IGPUS) Also, is the picture quality good but just looks bad when black colours are present or is the quality over all bad?

My graphics card is not integrated, and what specific specs do you need? It's a custom built pc so I'm not too sure about all the specs but it says it has 8GB of ram and an AMD FX-6300 six-core processor 3.50 GHz. The picture is generally not that great, but it's most noticeable when what I'm watching is dark, like when a scene takes place a night or something.

Okay so in the AMD control center I set the Colour to Full, I also enabled edge-enhancement, mosquito noise reduction, and de-blocking. Also in my BIOS Utility I set it to "Performance" and I don't really think either of these helped. I just took this screenshot that shows what it looks like with these settings on:
