Windows 10 Apps will not open!

As the title states, ever since I upgraded to Windows 10 some apps will not open. Two examples: I cannot open the calculator app, and suddenly I cannot open the Netflix app. They simply do not work at all. I click on them and nothing happens. I have opened the Task Manager to look for evidence of the programs running in the background but so far I have found none. Google searching hasn't found a solution for me yet either.

I upgraded in place from Windows 7 (64 bit) to Windows 10 (64 bit).
Currently on Version 1511 (OS Build 10586.104). (i5-3570K, 8GB RAM)

Any help is appreciated. My overall experience with Windows 10 so far has been mostly negative (worse performance and poor program compatibility).

Sometimes upgrades dont work, clean installs usually do

Not only did this not help, but it actually made it worse. Now the calculator app is gone all together.

I really do not want to do a clean install and wipe everything. I'm especially annoyed since 7 worked perfectly for me. If I can't fix this app issue I'm just gonna roll back.

One thing you could do is... perform an upgrade install with Windows Media Tool.. It will preserve all your settings and files...

Just select Upgrade this PC... I would do that before attempting anything else... if you don't want to go through the hassle of reinstalling everything.
