Help with what type of monitor to get to use with GTX 970!

I currently have a Samsung S24D360 overclocked to 75hz. I can't decide between a 1080p 144hz monitor and use DSR whenever I feel like it or a 1440p 60 hz monitor and sometimes play at 1080p. I realize that playing at a non-native resolution will make it look blurry. On the other hand, I don't play competitive games so having a 144hz monitor might not do me any good. I would like to not spend more than $300 if possible. I'm looking at the Asus VG248QE right now. It seems to be a good 1080p 144hz 1ms monitor. I don't necessarily have a time constraint so I want to measure twice and cut once with my choice. Thanks in advance for any help!

I don't have that much money to spend and I know that the 970 can't play games at 1440p 144fps with high to max settings.

well you could get a 1080p but the only panels above 60hz is tn

I think I'm going to get a 1440p 60hz monitor because I'm not going to get rid of the one I already have. I can just use a 1440p one as my main monitor and the 1080p one as a secondary for games that I can't play at 1440p.
