HP printers are physically good equipment. Windows upgrades often require new drivers of the equipment manufacturers. If the manufacturer chooses not to update the drivers the equipment is not usable even though it's still in good working order..
Are the "driver restorers" or "updaters" who list on the Internet actually able to provide drivers that solve the problem? eg Driver Restore or Driver Detective, etc.
Thanks,
Bob

Those sources can't point to you to a driver that doesn't exist. Support really depends on the model number you are trying to get working. It may be possible, once again depending on the model, to emulate a driver or use a generic driver.

I don't recommend the use of the types of sites you mentioned. Often, they are a great place to contract a virus or other malware infection. Legit drivers are freely available fro OEM sources.
