can't decide what gpu to buy

Hi, i want to upgrade my gpu, but can't decide what to buy. I read 100s of posts, reviews about the cards but still no idea.
gtx 970 (msi), or r9 390, or for 70$ more i could get a GV-R939XG1 GAMING-8GD for 450$.(EU)
The price of the 970 and the 390 is the same.
The way i see, all 3 of them perform nearly the same at 1080p, but because the +4 gb, amd cards look more "future proof".
I will be playing on 1080p, maybe i will upgrade to 1440 in 1 or 2 years depends on how prices change.
Does the xfx 650 is enough for a 390x?
I'm leaning towards the 390x if my psu can handle it, but i'M not sure if it's worth the extra money, and i couldn't find any reviews for that gigabyte model....

i5 4670k @4.3
16 gb ddr3
hd6950 2gb
xfx pro 650w
2 ssds, 1 tb hdd
6 case fans, +1 noctua nh-d14

Your not going to future proof a video card tech changes to fast. I would get the GTX 970 and call it a day in a couple of years when you upgrade to 2K your going to need a new video card anyhow.

Id say get the 970 as well, however if you plan on upgrading to higher resolutions and dont want to replace the card in the future, just go straight for a 980.

gtx 970 is best for 1080p, when you upgrade to 1440p or higher resolutions maybe look into the new pascal cards
