Hello,
First of all excuse my grammar, I am Finnish.
At the moment my computer consists almost purely of parts I got from my brother when he upgraded his PC last summer.
Here are some screenshots from CPU-Z:
CPU: https://gyazo.com/055181ab2e1276288cb3f49320e7a5b5
Mainboard: https://gyazo.com/eb51222956df2b1c8b8cc6e4e04c71a9
Memory: https://gyazo.com/3aee10e1d0237254ea0336a6e7da8f77
GPU: https://gyazo.com/a68ce00bcdfe3748883918ca59b9f13a
The power supply I have is a XFX 550W pro.
Right now my CPU is overclocked to 4,2Ghz with a program that came with my motherboard. It has the stock cooler.

Now that you know what`s inside my PC, lets get to the point.
I am looking to upgrade the all-around performance of my computer with a budget of around 300 euros, that is just a bit over 300 US dollars. I`m in no desperate need of upgrading it, but I`d like to see options what could I do to it with the little money I have gathered.
For now I have sticked to some older games that my current system can run, I`ll include the the fps I get with the settings I play on:

-Skyrim I think im on high/medium, 40-80fps
-Battlefield 3 low, 40-90fps
-CS:GO maximum settings, 80-140 fps
-Assetto Corsa high, 50-60 fps
-Path Of Exile medium/high, 40-120 fps
-Borderlands 2 high, 70-100fps
-Minecraft fast graphics, medium render distance, 150-350fps

Things I have considered on getting:
-More and faster ram (8GB of the fastest ram my CPU can take, 1866mhz)
-Better GPU (GTX960/R9 380 NITRO 4GB)
Random stuff that came into mind:
-An SSD
-Better cooling and more overclock

I am no expert in PC components, so feel free to suggest better parts for the same price, that`s why I am here. My friend said those are pretty solid cards, both cost about 220 euros. Ram I can get for 60 euros. I`ve also heard that AMD GPU`s don`t quite work flawlessly with minecraft, which I play quite a lot, so thats a minus for AMD. I`m aware that the GPU`s may get bottlenecked by my CPU, I am looking to upgrade to a better one if I get a summer job this summer.

That`s about all I have to say for now, I`m eager to hear your guys suggestions on what to do to get the most out of my PC.

Thank you
-Joonatan

Hey there. Depending on the games you want to play, my suggestion can vary a lot. If you plan to play more graphic intensive games, I would use all the money to grab a good gpu. Now if you dont plan on play intensive games in high resolutions, I would probably get a small ssd just to put windows and some other programs, I would also buy a better cooler for the cpu and then depending on how much there is left, I would use it for the gpu or save it for later

I agree with what you've mentioned.

ram
8GB Ram at 1866Mhz (which I literally got 4 days ago) is amazing

GPU
Here's a comparison between the GTX960 and the R9 390.
http://gpuboss.com/gpus/Radeon-R9-390-vs-GeForce-GTX-960
That'll show you everything you need to know between the two. Clocking capabilities and stuff.

AMD will run minecraft perfectly. There's nothing about it running badly with minecraft.

Besides minecraft doesn't require much from your GPU, so it really won't be a problem.

SSD
Will make your computer such a pleasure to use.
I would recommend one of these two:
250GB
120GB

Overclocking
Unless you love to overclock (and you're good at it), I wouldn't recommend it.
Rather don't get the cooler, and spend the extra money on a better CPU.
That way you've got a safe improvement to performance.
Then you can get CPU cooler later and overclock the better CPU. :)

Thank you for your fast and informative answers, the problem here is I can`t afford it all, so I`m kinda struggling on what to get and what to save for later. Also I`m not certain on what games are CPU/GPU intensive, apart from minecraft which _Blink mentioned. I play at 1080p and would prefer not going any lower.

My friend has a R7 2xx GPU, it cost I believe 170e so its not a bad but not an awesome card either, he also has an A10 5600 (?) Anyways he only gets around 40-60 fps in minecraft, after he switched to that card.
One more thing if I limit my fps to anything under 100 in minecraft the game for some reason just looks choppy, my monitor
is 60hz.

E: Oh and you linked me to a comparison between the 960 and 390. The 390 is way more expensive than the 380 atleast in Finland

So by the looks of it I`m not buying anything since my CPU would probably bottleneck it too much for it to be worth it.
I got this information from some youtube videos with the exact system I had planned. :p
