Hey, thanks for taking the time to look at this thread.

Long time reader here and I'm looking for a bit of help as I'm totally clueless with how to proceed.

I'm currently moving in with my gf later this month and have decided I don't need the desktop I currently have, I don't play the games I used to justify me having it and I've got my eye on a laptop I'd like to get instead, which is much more practical (especially for work).

Problem is, as with most things, money. I'd like to try and sell the system I have here to put funds towards it as otherwise I couldn't do this but I've absolutely no idea on pricing second-hand hardware & the best place to even advertise selling it??

The computer is a few years old but I spent close to 1100 on parts at that time, here's what's in it;

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600K CPU @ 3.40GHz
8GBs Crossfire RAM
AMD Radeon HD 6900 Series
1TB HDD
and a 100GB SSD (which I have my OS on)

any help would be appreciated and if anyone has any questions please let me know. Thanks.

dependent on your gpu specifics about 550$.

on ebay a 2600k is ~200$

8gb ram is ~ 35$

HDDs are like 40$

100gb ssds are like 40$

6900s can go from about 80 to 200 so....

with the case, motherboard and psu I would expect you can get 500-600. More maybe if your gpu is a 6990.

As far as places to sell, craigslist? ebay?
