Ok so i have a fx-6300 at 4.5 GHz with a 750 ti i am looking at upgrading to a sapphire R9 390 but i have a 500 watt power supply that i"m selling to a friend for a server. i don't have a lot of money to get a new power supply and i don't want to have to get a 970 instead due to it's lower power consumption. So I've been looking at cheaper psu's. I found a cheap psu and i was wondering if someone who understand's these sort of low money situations and with the knowledge who can give me a practical answer to this problem without turning round and saying buy a $300 evga power supply because not everyone gets to pay $2 for titan x's in there country. would this power supply be suitable for my needs without it being super rubbish/dodgy

i live in new zealand did you have a look at the other psu's there

These are your options:

http://nz.pcpartpicker.com/parts/power-supply/#sort=a9&page=1

All of which are poor quality for that price. If I have to recommend one around there, this is the only one I would think of recommending:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

Power Supply: Antec 700W ATX Power Supply ($109.25 @ PC Force)
Total: $109.25
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available
Generated by PCPartPicker 2016-03-06 16:43 NZDT+1300

I really think you should be willing to spend more on a higher quality PSU. Such as:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

Power Supply: Cooler Master VS 550W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($160.55 @ PC Force)
Total: $160.55
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available
