I'm currently trying to download Windows 10 via the media creation tool making a USB download. Upon going into the set up and and entering my serial number and selecting my drive, I get the error "0x80300002" and it says "we couldn't install windows in the location you chose. Please check your media drive. here's more info about what happened :0x80300002

Solution
Try this.

When you get to the Custom Install screen, hit Shift + F10, this will bring up the Command Prompt.

Then type this:

diskpart

Then type:

list disk

It will show you a list of the disk connected to your computer. In your case it should only show Disk 0. If this is correct type this:

select disk 0

Then type:

clean

Then from the Custom Install select New and leave it to use the entire volume. It will warn you that it needs to make a System Reserved partition, let it. Windows should install.

I assume you are attempting a clean install of Windows 10. Were / are there partitions already on the drive you are trying to install on? I've seen this on Windows 7 (and a few Windows 8 /8.1 installs) where the System Reserved partition from the previous Windows installation is too small for Windows 10 to use. If this is the case, delete all the partitions on the drive (from inside the Windows 10 installer) then proceed with the install. Windows will create the partitions it needs (System Reserved partition is 500MB) and the remaining size for the Windows installation.

From what I see there is just the one drive. Not sure if this helps but it does say that it's a 465gb rather than the 500 it says on the hard drive

it's used, I bought it from a local PC store

When you get to this screen:

Select Custom Install. Then you'll see this screen:

Your drive that you are installing on should show only one entry that says Drive X Unallocated Space. It should be all unallocated space. If it has any partitions on it, highlight them and hit Delete below. Do this for all the partitions shown. This should leave the drive as completely Unallocated. Then highlight the drive and hit Next.

That's what was happening. it was only the 1 disc and it was giving me that error after I selected that and hit next

Yes, exactly that. The same as your screenshots but then it doesn't allow me to go any further

hopefully this works. if not , here's the link http://tinypic.com/r/biqdz4/9
