I've noticed when monitoring the task manager my ram usage never goes over 7.3GB used, Ive purposely tried to make it use more but it seems to hit a ceiling at that point.

I've now also noticed MSI Afterburner only detects 8GB.

Every bit of bench mark software detects 16GB

Bios detects 16GB

Im using slots A2 and B2 as per the ASUS user guide.

Anyone know whats going on?

That is normal, you have more ram than you need now. I have 16gb, never used more than 12. All...

That is normal, you have more ram than you need now. I have 16gb, never used more than 12. All your screens look like mine. Win 10 just really efficient at ram usage. The one time I got close to 10 I was running a game of Civ 5 and alt tabbed

Looking around the MSI thing appears to be a bug in that program

Quite a bit of a necro, but thought I'd chip in...

Afterburner doesn't detect (or try to detect) the total amount of RAM you have - at all. The 8192 MB you see is simply the default maximum value shown on the RAM graph. You can specify any maximum you wish, in:

Afterburner properties (the cog)
-> Monitoring tab
-> in "Active hardware monitoring graphs", select item "RAM usage"
-> Set "Maximum limit".
