Looking to build a reasonably priced gaming rig for my living room and need a video card. I want to get 60FPS in 1080p out of most games and some upcoming ones (Final Fantasy XIV: ARR, Doom, No Man's Sky, Mirror's Edge Catalyst, etc) and currently play things like Star Wars Battlefront, The Division, Farcry, and a few other AAA games.

I'm torn on performance from ATI v. Nvidia. I've narrowed it down to either a 960 GTX/R9 380 build for the more budget friendly end, or should I just spend the money to get a 970 GTX/R9 390 setup? Please advise, here's the rest of my build, any feedback would be appreciated! Thanks guys!

Non-overclocking, high performance with much better quality power supply.

So that's two for the 970 GTX, I guess the extra VRAM from the ATI line seemed like it would yield better results. I just cannot justify the cost of a 980/390 with new cards around the corner, plus I'll probably never do VR so it's wasted on me I think.
