I have done one core of an i5 running at ~1GHz with 512MB ram, no modifications to default installer... absolutely pointless, but it was possible (though Windows took up ~480MB of ram). Virtual machines are fun
running it on an acer aspire one netbook with 2 gb ram and one of the horrible atom cpu's!! "drops mic and walks away"
It's not clear how your system is running.
it runs pretty well. i can't tell the difference between in win 10 and the win 7 starter edition that came on it. opening 4 tabs or more in the browser will slow it to a crawl but not like the netbook was anything but slow out of the box. killing a bunch of services helped a lot. especially the search and superfetch services. for a traveling web browser it is plenty good enough
I can look out 10 windows while running and looking at my Commodore VIC 20
CPU MOS Technology 6502 @ 1.108404 MHz (PAL) [1] @ 1.02 MHz (NTSC)
Memory 20 KB ROM + 5 KB RAM (expandable to 32 KB), 3.5 KB for BASIC (expandable to 30.5 KB)
i don't think the tapes even held enough data. they were huge for the time but they were not even close to big enough for a win 10 install to fit on. would be neat to see it going though. would take hours to boot up if not days.
don't think the low amount of ram would even let the services it needs to run.
I doubt it would have loaded the GUI, if it could fit win 10 into 8kb of ram to start with. That and you would need to load it every time you wanted to run it, no hdd or anything to save it on. BASIC was loaded on rom.
I should its part of history, its from the Lunar tracking station responsible for the pictures seen from Apollo 11 when they made that famous first step.
