What would be the best way to get some more cooling on this case? I love the case but it just seems lackluster in the cooling department, especially for the price. I was figuring I could use a 140mm circular drill bit and drill fan holes in the top and then put some 140mm fans in after cleaning up the holes a bit. However, does anyone know of an easier way to get more cooling and fans in this case? Maybe something with those side mesh grills? Is there a bracket or something that can just be screwed onto the side somehow.

I'm trying to look for something that will do the job and be fun to do but not look ridiculous. So far, my only idea has been drilling 140mm holes, sanding the holes to be not sharp and to look nice, and then to put 140mm fans in with some custom grills from frozencpu or something. However, I'm not even sure if the aluminum on the top of the case would handle the force of the drilling.

Any suggestions?

I replaced all the fans in my V33WX right of the bat with 3 COUGAR 12CM CFD Blue LED in the top compartment and 1 Cougar CF-V14HB in the bottom all running at 50%. I've never had any issues with temps after the stock fans where replaced. But I knew going in Lian Li's fans are junk. So I wouldn't cut a hole in it. The following link will show you why I went with these fans.

When you get the right air flow and static presser fans which the Cougars are you will notice a big increase in cooling.
Hope this helps.

Well I have plenty of high static pressure fans that will work but I also have quite a few 140mm noctua fans that I would like to use. Thus, why I wanted to mod the case to hold more fans.

I did the same thing with an older Lian Li PC-7 case 10 years ago also to ad more fans. Not that much of a big deal really Lian Li case are easy to mod this way. The one bit of advice I'll give you is us masking tape on both sides where you going to drill. The wider the tape the better. This will help protect the panel from scratches and give a place to mark your pattern. Make sure it is clamped down good and laying flat on some plywood. Also a drill press works best. Just go in easy and there be less of a sharp edge. You can also use a black sharpie to black out the now bare aluminum edges. It can be done. With fan grills I have always used Performance PC for case related mods parts.
