Hey guys so I'm kinda at my wits end here. Spent all day building my first PC just to reach this point. For some reason I can't seem to get my computer to output at 1080 on my monitor. I tried with a vga cable hooked to a dvi adapter and that gets me a max res of 1280 x 1024. When I click to show resolutions that aren't supported it allows me to go to 1600 x 1200 but no more than that. To top it off, I can't get my monitor to work with an HDMI cable hooked to my PC at all. Doesn't work on the gpu or the motherboard and I've tested several cables. I'll post my specs as best I can but I'm not gonna have internet on it till tomorrow so I'm on my phone for now.

My monitor is an LG 27' IPS Full HD
Motherboard is G1 gaming 7
Cpu is i7 6700k
Gpu is 980 ti
16gb ram
Windows 10 64 bit

If I missed anything in my specs let me know. Any help would be appreciated.

Solution
is the monitor still under warranty? since you tried different hdmi cable & 2 separate hdmi ports on the computer then is a monitor issue.
