Witcher 2 on PC

I upgraded my setup recently, and I have been trying out various gaming titles. I came upon Witcher 2, but as it's commonly known, Witcher 2 is not optimized for PC. I cannot play on Ultra even when I have the specs for it. I tried many manipulations and settings (disable ubersampling, anti-aliasing etc) but not much effect. I have been able to get about 40-70 fps on low settings, and I have been playing like that. But I am really annoyed at this, that I cannot play such a great game with its full beauty. So my question is, is it really worth it? Or shall I just move on?

My CPU is 319% (source: game-debate) better than the minimum required for witcher 2. So i should be able to play smoothly on minimum settings. But i cant. So is this the game's problem?
