Will Freesync work on stuff other than games?

I won't be playing games with my monitor. (currently looking at a MG278Q or MG279Q)

However, I will be doing things like graphical design, 3-D modeling, program developing, graphics developing, and heavy editing and rendering. (I will do a lot more stuff that is graphically demanding but won't include them)

Basically, will freesync eliminate screen tearing and give me smoother graphics even if I don't play games?

Also, I heard that freesync is limited and will only work when my refresh rate is between 30 and 90 or something like that. Is this true?

No, it helps with variable framerates. The things you mentioned are static, or played back at a set rate for lack of a better word. You don't get screen tearing anywhere but games. Not quite, there are a few different FreeSync revisions, some monitors are capable of more, and some less.

When I do 3d graphical design, my computers stutters and the image breaks. So, Freesync won't help with that?
