I want to buy a new monitor, and I want it to be 4K @60Hz for when I watch YouTube and stuff like that, but I want 1080p at around 120Hz so that I can get a smoother gaming experience. In other words, can I overclock a 4K monitor to 120Hz in 1080p? I know how to overclock monitors, as I've done it before, but I don't know how down scaling then overclocking would work. I want it this way because I don't have a super powerful computer, but I can game at 1080p with few issues.
I've been looking at this monitor for a little while, because it seems like the best for the price, unless somebody can help find a better one?

TL;DR
Can I get a 4K monitor @60Hz and downscale it to 1080p @120Hz?

Solution
Its not possible, although cables are able to allow 1080p 120hz, that monitors panel is set to run at 60hz. You could try to over clock the monitor, but I doubt you'd get over 75hz.

Edit:
24" 4k monitors are also said to have scaling issues. If I were you, go 1080p 144hz or if you can afford it, 1440p 144hz.
Not only can no monitor handle 4k at > 60 hz, there is no cable that supports the necessary bandwidth to deliver 4k at > Hzfps. As for 1080, I have never seen resolution scaling produce a satisfactory experience on an LCD. Where it's at right now in Gaming is 1440p w/ high Hz IPS monitors and ULMB. At 1080p, I have yet to see an InPS monitor that doesn't have lag issues in gaming

I know anything above 60Hz at 4K is unreasonable, if not impossible. I don't want that, I want 4K at 60Hz and 1080p at 120Hz from the same monitor.

24" 4k monitors aren't really worth it because the pixels are insanely small on such a small panel. I would choose a monitor bigger than 27". Also, over-clocking 4k monitors usually doesn't end up too well...

I ended going with a G-Sync 27" 1440p Acer Monitor, I got it for extra cheap, and so far, I love it! Thanks for that suggestion!
