hi, everyone! i'm planning on building my very first computer and need some advice on whether or not these parts are compatible with each other:

Graphics : GTX 980 Ti Hybrid

CPU : i7 6700k

HSF : NH-U14S

Motherboard : MSI Z17A Gaming M7

RAM : 16GB DDR4

HDD : 2TB UltraStar

SSD : Sandisk Ultra II 240 GB

Power supply : SeaSonic G-750

Case : Storm Trooper

also, those links are just meant for describing the parts. i'm having a bit of a rough time finding good deals for the parts. other than that, i need help determining the compatibility of all of these. would they all go well together with no trouble or GPU/CPU bottle-necking?

thank you.

They are all compatible with each other. A fairly high end build. The only possible problem is the cooler and the case. That is a very tall cooler. I found I had to juggle cases to put one in my main PC. I can say it for sure fits in the r5. The r5 also benefits from being very quiet in addition to being very wide and it has no window (plexiglass tacked in place sometimes vibrates and is not as good at sound deadening).

As for prices, don't forget to also check out Amazon.com If you have (or know someone who has) a Prime account the savings in shipping can be hard to beat.

I would want to kow the resolution of the monitor before I decided a graphics card or cpu was overkill .

Agreed. The i5 6600K has almost twice the overclocking potential of the 6700K, at $100 less. With the extra money, I would get better RAM, SSD, and HDD. The 980 TI is overkill for 1080p gaming; it's made for 4K gaming. Monitors for 4K are in the 600-800 dollar range, so I would go with 2 970s instead. SLI'd 970s will perform significantly better at 1080p gaming then a single 980TI.

The 970 is pretty much "the" Nvidia 1080p card. 980 TI actually is horrible at 1080p gaming. Even a single 970 would edge a victory over the 980TI in 1080p gaming.

If you want a good color scheme, I have made a build that looks good and performs well.

The HGST drive uses the term imsourcing. I'm not familiar with the term and the link is a dead end. Warranty? I would look for something else.
By the way, most hard drive warranties start from the day of manufacture, not the day of purchase.
