How can I make my games run at 1080p by default?

I have a laptop with a QHD display and I want the games to start up at 1080p by default. How do I do that?

Laptop Specs:
Display: 14"QHD Wide View Angle
CPU: i7-5700HQ
Graphics: GTX 970M
Memory: DDR3L 8Gx2
Storage: SSD128G+HDD1T
OS: Windows 10 Home

It should run in 1080p by default. But few games in modern times set your resolution and graphics by the specs you have. But still it should have 1080p by default. Anyway it would take less than a minute to change the resolution
