First up, what monitor?

Second of all, if you can, set the input to VGA.

Third, you provided barely any information. So it's question time

• Does the PS4 work with your TV?
• Does it work with any other monitors?
• Did you try plugging the HDMI cable into an HDMI port on your monitor? Or do you not have one?
• Are your PS4 was on?

Do you have an HDMI to DVI adapter? VGA uses analog signals, DVI uses digital, and HDMI uses digital. Using an HDMI to DVI won't have to actually convert anything which may solve your problem, plus the fact that it's just better to use digital over analog

His monitor is old I think and doesn't have an HDMI plug

He should just turn HDCP off... It won't effect anything, it's just a protection. Then he should use an HDMI to DVI, and plug it in his monitor.

But quick question OP. Why are you even using a monitor and not a TV?
