I have just built a computer for the first time. Inside it i have a msi gtx980 ti 6g gaming video card. It has one dvi port, hdmi port, and 3 display ports.

When i hook up my monitors both to my graphics card. One through hdmi and the other through a dvi hdmi adapter. Its almost as if the dvi is overpowering my hdmi and stealing all the picture.

I know that my hdmi port isnt faulty because i have ran it on its own while troubleshooting. I have also updated all my drivers and done a different combination of cables going from my video card to monitor. If anyone has solutions it would be greatly appreciated. Im really trying to have a dual monitor setup mainly because i spent the extra money on another monitor, but also because it is convenient. Thank you.

Right click on desktop and select "Display settings"
Now select "Extend these displays"
check "Make this my main display" //be sure which one is your main display
click on "Apply" button
then click on "keep changes"
