Monitor Not Filling up whole screen INTEL

Hello

So i recently got a monitor for around 15 bucks. The exact name is Envision h193wk. the resolution is 1440 x 900. but when i set it to that it shows the screen but its squashed into a little box and has a bunch of black around only the sides not the top and bottom. if i change it to 1280 x 1024 it fills up the screen but is a little squished on the top and bottom and loses quality.

To be clear i'm using this for gaming.

My graphics card is a Intel HD graphics

And i want the quality to be 1440 x 900. and im using vga. and i have changed the resolution. nothing happens and i have a auto button but when i press it nothing happens

Set it to it's native 1440 x 900 resolution.

Then use the monitor's menu (OSD via the buttons) to adjust the width until the black bars have gone.

Thanks for the reply. but it didnt work. what i does is moves the menu box

Sorry i didnt word that correctly. in my menu i found the osd and i clicked it but all that moves is the menu box

Update:

I tried it on a different computer it worked like a charm. also i tried another monitor with my pc. worked!
i dont know what it wrong. ive tried both vga cables. neither of them worked on my monitor with my pc. both worked on the other. it might be the other monitor is the same resolution as my laptop pc.
