Well .. i noticed little flickering purple dots on my screen recently ... so i was wondering if it was because of bad Vram or the gpu is dying or even it was because of the Vulkan api update ....
the pictures are here http://imgur.com/a/krrDa
Update... i tested out an external monitor ...and it doesn't have any artifacts

Could be anything from a worn video ribbon cable of the laptop to the LCD screen of the device.
You see they pass from the main body of the laptop, through or near where the hinges are for opening up the screen for example.

Due to being subjected to bending and flexing they can become worn or faulty.
You say you get pink dot`s or artifacts.

If its just present on the LCD screen of the laptop, and not when the display image is passed to an external monitor it is likely the cause.

If still under warranty RMA for a repair.
