Will my Sapphire HD 7870 2GB OC support these 2 monitors

Hi,

I have a SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 7870 2GB: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202025

Which has 1 HDMI, 1 Display Port & 2 x DVI (1 Single Link, 1 Dual Link) ports.

Currently only have 1 monitor attached, which is a Samsung SyncMaster P2370 and it is connected using a DVI cable.

Would like to get a second monitor to make working easier and one that is more suited to photo editing. Was looking at getting a Dell UltraSharp U2414HB: http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&cs=19&sku=860-BBCG&baynote_bnrank=0&baynote_irrank=0&~ck=baynoteSearch

From what I have read, this monitor should work fine with my setup and I can either use the HDMI or Display Port to connect it. However, what I wanted to ask is, will my GPU be powerful enough to run 2 monitors while I am gaming or will my gaming be affected in any way?

it will work if you only game on one monitor when you do. gaming over a 2 monitor setup sucks because everything important in the middle will be cutoff. farthermore your gpu would struggle with running the pixle count

I had intended to only game on the Samsung monitor as that has the best response time and the Dell monitor has 8ms. I intend to only use the Dell monitor for photo editing and as a second screen for work or to run browser when im gaming.

yup that should work fine. driving a extra monitor isnt very intensive.
