HI looking to buy a new monitor upgrading from my Samsung S24D300HL i was looking to spend around $550 cad preferably from staples.ca

i dont really know what i want i was hoping for 1440p to 4k just to future proof (my pc cant handles 4k) i play games like csgo and rust looking for a ultra wide

No pair of cards existing today can handle 4k ... so 1440p remains "where it's at"

The SOTA monitors at this point are 1440p, IPS with very low lag / response times and equipped with ULMB:

Unfortunately all of which are out of your price range especially with the "north of the border" price penalty. The Asus TN model (PG278Q) comes in at about $650 south of the border but $860 up above... same with the Dell S2716DG

The BenQ 2730Z, Asus MG279Q and Acer Predator XG270HU comes closest at $560 -...

The BenQ 2730Z, Asus MG279Q and Acer Predator XG270HU comes closest at $560 - 650 CAD if you have AMD GFX cards and, although there's no ULMB with Freesync, the manufacturers do provide a rudimentary blur reduction mode.
