Hi All,

I just build a brand new PC for work. It is mainly for intense audio production in Cubase. Specs are below

Intel 5960x 8 core cpu
Asrock OC formula x99 motherboard
64gb Corsair dominator ram
bequiet dark pro 850w power supply
asus Strix GTX980ti
samsung evo 950 m.2 ssd for boot drive
various other drives in raid for storage

I am having issues with Windows 10 completely freezing whenever I run just about any application. I cant even type an email let alone launch a session in Cubase. This is a legit fresh copy of Windows 10. For the life of me I cannot figure this out and without this computer I cannot work and make money. Please Help!!!

Thanks for the reply!

All software, drivers, and BIOS are up to date. I did update the 950 FW. All software is backed up. After extensive troubleshooting (see http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-3034056/custom-5960x-windows-freezing.html#17834540), the mobo is being sent back.

Here are the errors that keep popping up in the Event Log:

DCOM got error "1084" attempting to start the service WSearch with arguments "Unavailable" in order to run the server:
{B52D54BB-4818-4EB9-AA80-F9EACD371DF8}

DCOM got error "1084" attempting to start the service ShellHWDetection with arguments "Unavailable" in order to run the server:
{DD522ACC-F821-461A-A407-50B198B896DC}

The csvol service failed to start due to the following error:
A device attached to the system is not functioning.

I'm not sure if any of that helps. If you guys tell me more specifically where to look, I'll provide the info. The above errors are the ones that popped up the most.

Are you having the latest bios firmware ? Also please check 950 for firmware update.
If you are going to update 950 firmware save any data that's on it, in case of failure.
And if you are doing Bios update, write down your raid configuration in case it forgets raid settings.
