My son upgraded Win 10 from Win 7 Pro N retail on his desktop computer. He activated Win 10 through his e-mail account.
Computer runs with Intel i-5, with 8 GB RAM, and Windows installation is located on a separated SSD. 1 TB HD is for programs/docs only.
Few days ago Windows unexpectedly crashed. After a number of attempts to do repair, we decided to run clean install.
Unfortunately, after dozens of attempts, the installation simply freezes in different stages of installation process.
There is no chance that it could be due to hardware malfunction.
We tried both Flash Drive and DVD option, but with the same results.
The process simply freeze and stay like that for hours. Sometimes the Install Windows Message appears: “The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error.”
Do anybody has any suggestion what's going on and/or what should be done to complete installation?
We will really appreciate any help or suggestion.
Thanks

First of all, thanks for your answers. Here are some hardware details that might help:

Motherboard: Intel DZ68ZV
SSD (System Drive): Kingston 90 GB 200V+
RAM: 2 x 4 GB Kingston Hiper X RED
HDD: Western Digital WD1002FAEK, 1 TB
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon Sapphire 777oHD, 2 GB RAM
Power Unit: Silverstone 600W

But please, be aware that Windows 10 was running on this machine for over 3 months before it crashed, and was normally activated through Microsoft Account.
Also, the clean installation that we are trying to complete starts normally and each time stops on a different phases of installation process. The only issue we find problematic is that somewhere during the installation keyboard and mouse stop working. Therefore, our conclusion is that SSD works properly. If not, there should be some kind of warning even in a formatting process. Also, there was suggestion to verify the SSD working status using Seagate's SeaTools. But, can it work without Windows running properly?
