Hey!
I was just wondering i have a Rampage V Extreme X99 motherboard, with a i7-5820K with 28pci lanes. I am running SLI so the cards run 16x and 8x using 24pci lanes and thinking about adding a M.2 SSD that uses 4lanes that will say i have used all my 28pci lanes.
I was wondering about the Z170 series with the i7-6700K which has 16pci lanes.
Top end z170 motherboards like the Gigabyte Z170X-Gaming G1 says it supports up to quad-sli and 2x m.2 SSDs.
With 16pci lanes its really limited and run quad sli 4x4x4x4 which is doesn't perform any good, and then not space for a M.2? or one GPU at 8x and two m.2 ssds at 4x and then no lanes?
Am i right or am i missing something?
