Problems with installing Java (8.77)

when I try to install 32 bit java I have no problems and it installs as it should.
the problems occur when trying to install the 64 bit version:
First of all the installers opens as it schould but freezes just before the bar 'Status: Installing Java' finishes (best guess is 95% finished). At this point java seems to be installed according to my list of programs in the control panel. I try to close the installer via task manager (0 CPU usage but it uses a bit of RAM). Java 64 bit still visable in list of programs. And a game I used to play (Starmade, which needs java to run) works fine too now.
But now it gets weird; whenever I shut down my PC, java 64 bit disapears. It doesnt seem te be installed anymore, and does not show up in the list of programs.

I hope someone can help me, if any info is needed, please let me know.

System:
running Windows 10 Pro (64 bit) on:
AMD FX(tm)-4100 Quad-Core Processor [3,62 GHz]
8,00 GB installed memory (RAM)
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960

Solution
If you need Java for games, then rather don't use the 64-bit edition. You game (and other software) will quite happily work with the 32-bit edition.
Also, try updating to the latest which is now 8.91 as of 19 April.

I thought I needed a 64 bit version in order to allocate more than 1024 MB of ram to java..
and I'll try the new update.

thanks for your reply
