Just wondering whether someone had any tips for any good CPUs for under 100$. Currently have a I7 860 2.8ghz that came with my setup, but I just don't think it's that good. Might be though not sure. Anyways, any tips?

BTW my location is in Sweden if that's any help.

Being in Sweden makes all the difference! ROFL
No, seriously.. Just craiglist or ebay search for what is available.. Then google it and see which ranks the best.

Being in Sweden does reduce the amount of options unfortunately. And the cost of shipping can be fairly large. Just looking for alternatives.

I was unaware of that.. No offense meant.. Just being silly.
I just did some searching and the best one 1156 for your price range is the one you have.

Sorry if I seemed offended or anything, really wasn't. Pretty much knew it was sarcasm but answered in a bad way, sorry. (Sarcasm is hard to type though.)

Cheers for the research. The one I have is the best huh? Well then. Seems like a new motherboard is on the list as well. Is the 1156 just really old or just unpopular? I know the 1155 is common.

Any recommendations? I do have funds it's just that this computer is planned to be "temporary" like 2-3 years. So I don't want to throw my entire wallet in there.

Appreciate the help but as I stated previously I might just swap the entire MB. Shouldn't be an issue. Any good combination you can think of that's not too expensive?

There's not much more you can drop into your motherboard, unfortunately - it's 6 generations old. It was replaced by socket 1155, which had two generations of Intel CPUs, then by sovket 1150, which had two generations of Intel CPUs that fit, and we're now on socket 1151.

I love these weird counting orders, 1156-1155-1150-1151. But thanks for the info. I kinda expected it to be fairly old.
