Intermittent mouse lag when playing video

Hi I'm having trouble finding help on this issue:

When playing videos through the browser my mouse lags in such a way that it jumps. The cursor will stay stationary for a second before jumping to the appropriate position.

- computer is 3 yrs old -- AMD A-10 6800k
- Nvidia GTX970 -- 3 months old. first problem yet
- 16gb ram. 3 months old
- wired mouse

I did an antivirus scan with bitdefender and looked through my installed programs for spyware. I also made sure my gpu drivers were up to date.

Restarting fixes the issue and it seems like it is correlative with the amount of time my desktop is left on without a reboot (>24hrs usually is enough to see the problem start).

In addition, sometimes it is not possible to open the start menu. Both problems are intermittent and unpredictable.

1| Can you please pass on your full system's specs inclusive of the connected peripherals?
2| Please make sure your BIOS and remaining device(namely chipset and peripherals) drivers are up to date. You can follow this guide to reinstalling your GPU drivers.
3| You should disable the automatic device driver update feature.
4| Have a go with a repair install and see if the issue is averted.
