M.2 SSD versus 2.5-inch SSD

Hi friends,

Simple question today is:

How much faster is an M.2 SSD over a standard internal SSD ...and I mean real world difference, not numbers on paper.

Is it a slight increase in boot speed and file transfer speed or is it more of a leap?

Been reading a lot of articles but it's hard to gauge what it actually feels like when switching to one. Any war stories appreciated.

Thanks!

depends on your use!
real world scenarios showed slight increase in boot time, and absolute 0 increase in load times in games and common consumer use
since you need stuff/programs that actually use those high read/writes, which your average joe doesnt ever use
people that claim "games load much faster", "load times cut by half" in games or such suffer from placebo effect, since most stuff never utilize those read/writes

example, doesnt matter if your plug an external drive "into" your newly acquired M.2 ssd and start to transfer.. since the transfer would be limited to your externals speed, and vice versa, transfering from your M.2 to external would again be limited to externals speed.
(yes i know you dont "plug" and external device directly into a M.2, point is the limitation other factors apply)
