Questions about a monitor

I am building new computer with a 4gb 970 and i7 6700k, and I was wondering about a monitor. I have a 32 inch 720p 60hz lcd tv, and I was planning on using it as a monitor. Is that a good idea or should I get a dedicated monitor such as a 21.5 inch AOC IPS LED monitor?
