I'm trying to look up motherboards to replace a dead MSI Z77A-GD65 but I've never fully understood them to know which to buy. Although I have some idea I don't know enough for making a final decision and thought I might see if anyone has suggestions. It seems I might be limited based on my setup. Either that or I couldn't find many options.
The current setup that will run on the new motherboard is:
CPU: Intel i7 3770K 3.5 GHz
Heat Sink: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
RAM: 16gb(2x8gb) DDR3 Patriot Viper
GPU: 2 GTX 660 SLI
PSU: Antec 750 Watt 80+ Bronze
HDD: 2
SDD: 2
Expansions/Networking: Asus PCE-N15 Wifi Adapter
I've listed my specs in case anyone has a suggestion of a board that would work for me but I am not necessarily looking for a strict answer. Any advice in motherboard buying would be appreciated. I have looked at one already that seems pretty good. My previous, before I got the MSI, was Gigabyte and that computer lasted many years, even still going strong with a friend.
Gigabyte GA-Z787-UDH3
Also is it just a few that I happen to look at or do motherboards have a standard setup? They all seem to look practically the same as my current MSI.
Anyways, thanks for any advice or help. It's always greatly appreciated
