Hey I'm looking to purchase a monitor for my build and I noticed the Acer Predator G-Sync IPS 144Hz gaming monitor. I thought it was a nice monitor but am wondering if the 5ms response time is noticeable compared to a 1ms or 2ms response time?

I am mainly wanting to play FPS game and my PC build that I am wanting to build is an i5 6600K with a MSI Z170A M7 motherboard an a MSI R9 390 8GB GPU. I am wondering is this monitor beneficial to my set up or are there monitors that would better suit this build.

(I want to game at 1080p and 1440p) is this PC and monitor capable of this? I would also appreciate your opinion on my PC build.

Your not going to notice a difference between 2ms and 5ms but you will see the difference between 60Hz and 144Hz when playing FPS games.

2-5ms differece https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mpxezuLR9Ko

And yes you will be able to game at 1440p with that pc and monitor

The response times posted vary very differently per manufacture and don't accurately reflect anything. What is much more important than ghosting is the input lag

That video is useless, it's treating pixel response time as if it has anything to do with the player's response time. It doesn't. What pixel response time is relevant to is whether the monitor will show ghosting when there's motion on-screen.

But you're right about the ratings from the manufacturers, they're highly unreliable.
