can my laptop be hooked up to my desktop?

my desktop is significantly stronger than my laptop is. the laptop freezes when it gets overwhelmed and i have to restart it for it to unfreeze. is it possible to hook my desktop up to my laptop and have the desktop power the laptop as if it were a monitor with a keyboard and trackpad attached? being able to lay in bed and watch a movie without fps dropping to an unwatchable rate would be awesome
