I've been having this issue for a while and its getting very annoying.
I have a Gtx 480, which has two Dual Link DVI ports.
I have an Asus 144hz monitor and another Asus 1080p 60Hz monitor as my secondary.
However, when I plug them in, only the 144hz works properly (@ 1080p 144hz).
My other monitor is stuck at 768p .
I also recently bought another Dual Link DVI cable and that didnt seem to work.

A temporary solution I found is by unplugging the second monitor after start up and it works fine. It is never 1080p right on startup. However, it blacks out at times and changes back to 768p.

Yeah, the 480 is probably starting to show its age. It was a great GPU. But I'd suggest selling it and upgrading, but notify seller to return if issues.

Oops, accidently clicked best answer. And yes, I made sure it is in the Nvidia Control Panel. I don’t think it’s the monitor since Ive used it for years. Problems only began when I got this 144hz. Maybe the 480 can’t handle? Its idling at 76 degrees C. hahaha
