So I built this new gaming computer for my sister and it freezes constantly and at random times UNLESS we open Elder Scrolls Online and leave it running in the background...
Windows 10 PRO - SSD Samsung 250GB
AMD 6200 - 4.1GHZ
ASUS CROSSHAIR FORMULA-Z
AMD RADEON R9 200 Series
32GB RAM
750 WATT PSU
All new parts from newegg
It usually freezes right after logging on from power up, sometimes at the log on screen. So the moment we're able to log on, we open Elder Scrolls Online ASAP.
Steps I've already taken:
sfc /scannow
chkdsk /r
windows updates
boot into safe mode
changed ahci to ide
replaced sata cables on SSD and changed port on motherboard
pulled CMOS battery
removed RAM
refreshed windows 10
None of those things worked and I've done more but can't think of it right now. Normally I'm pretty savvy with PC's but this has me stumped. I'm assuming Windows 10 is just a jerk. I guess Elder Scrolls Online will just have to remain open in the background all the time...
