Dell E551 CRT Monitor Problem

i have got a dell e551 monitor it is working fine with pc but when i connect it to laptop vga...it gives grayscale display...not exactly grayscale.....there are colors but the colors are dim and colors are very whitish...it is not software or settings problem because i have tried everything nothing worked...

what does it show in device manager for monitors?
