I am not able to update to Windows 10

- Start date
1. make a new account make sure its an admin account
2. go to C:\Windows\temp
3. go back and rename the temp folder to "temp2"
4.log off the new account
5.log on to ur main account and it should start downloading and everything will work

A MS representative says this "could be caused if Windows update components become corrupt." If the new user ID solution from Mark_1970 doesn't work, you can download Windows 10 from here:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 and then install it.

updating though the media creation tool is a lot more consistent and works most every time. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
