Hello, I'm looking forward into buying myself a new 1080p monitor from Asus. So far the MX series have caught my attention but recently I heard that 27 inch monitors gives a bit lower quality with the same resolution (mushy looking). I'm unsure whether this is true or not but I'm willing to watch movies, play YouTube videos, browse the internet, and play tons of games such as Battlefield, Skyrim, Minecraft, Borderlands, Dead Space, and much more.

What is your opinion on this monitor (27 inch)? Should I stick with this one for the gaming part? Or is 1080p meant for 23 inch or lower?

(By the way I'm not a competitive player when it comes to games. Right now I have a default 1600x900 HP Pavillion monitor and I really want to go big in size for my next monitor)

I would recommend 24" or less for 1920x1080. For gaming and multimedia playback it is okay, but 27" 1080 screens are a little tough to read on at viewing distance.

27" at 1440p is more suitable, like the PG278Q.

27" is a good size for a 1080p monitor. It is really up to you, it is preference. I can tell you I used to have a 27" 1080p monitor and had no issues with gaming or the quality. I recently upgraded to a PG278Q and am loving it.
