Hi,

I am new to PC building, and I have compiled a list of components to build my first one. I would like to get some feedback on my build, to see what I can improve.

CPU: AMD fx-6300
MOBO: gigabyte GA 970 ds3p (970 chipset)
GPU: R9 280x vapor-x (used, because it is not sold anymore)
Storage: WD blue 1 TB
Case: Zalman Z3 plus white
RAM: Crucial 8 GB 1600 Mhz dual channel
The gpu is the component where I am the least certain. I could also use an r9 290 used, that costs about 40-50 euro's more. I like the low price of the 280x, but if you think the performance upgrade is worth it, than I will consider it.
With this build I want to do some gaming, and also for productivity. It costs about 395 pounds/500 dollars or euro's. This is my budget, and I am now not able to go higher than this.

Thanks,
Tim

My psu is the corsair VS550, and no, I live in the Netherlands. Thanks for your reply, I will change the motherboard.

Solid choices then apart from the board mate.the MSI g43/46 & the asrock pro/extremes 970 boards are awful awful quality & you should steer well clear.

The ds3p is comparable price wise & a much better board.

The ud3p is a little more expensive but is IMO the best quality 970 series board there is for the money.

Thanks for your reply, I think I will go for the ds3p, because of the price difference
