I have to upgrade the RAM and i have no idea what i'm doing

Hi guys! i have a Asus P7P55D-E motherboard with an Intel i5 760 CPU. I want to increase the RAM but i'm having some trouble in choosing what to buy:
I see that the maximun allowed RAM for my CPU is 16Gb, is this true? moreover i see on the Intel website that the memory compatible with this CPU is: 1066/1333 what does it mean? the speed of the memory? when i go in some hardware website i see a lot of DDR3 ram but i do not know which "speed" i should choose based on my CPU-Motherboard combo. Can anyone help? I do not want to end up buying something not compatible please explain how this work to me since i'm not good in this kind of stuff! thank u!!

Google for your favorite memory makers memory finder. Then input the make and model# of your motherbd and it will spit out all the available ram that they know works in it.

Look at the NT series of value DRAM from GSkill, they'll work with the 1156 mobos
