Microphone Only Works When Half Plugged In.

I recently bought a new cord for my microphone, it is XLR F to 3.5mm. It doesn't work unless the cord is plugged in about halfway. This wouldn't be an issue if I could keep it half plugged in, but it always falls out, any ideas?

Hi,

Does a regular 3.5mm headset work with your PC because if it does that could only mean that the problem is with the XLR F to 3.5mm adapter you're using.

Look at the microphone connector and count the rings of connectors.
Three are several types specified by tip, ring, stand. TRS or tip ring ring stand TRR these are just the names of the conductors.
By special insertion of the wrong type of connector you can get a connection that works.

Pc use a different connector than Apple products. If I remember correctly.
